[Icc-avr] ICCAVR IDE

Meanwhile I experienced a few more of these: sometimes it is hard to not inadvertently click on the icon and think "O! no!", and bang... it hangs. Even worse: after starting the application, then terminating it, thinking: hang on, I wasn't quite finished, opening it again (within say a minute), also hangs it. Reboot is the only solution to get ICCAVR working again (everything else still works fine).

My computer is new (6-7 months), hence the XP-prof is just as newly installed. ICCAVR was downloaded and installed a month ago, so it's not that I'm using any "old stuff".
Am I really the only one with this problem?

Albert.

No it is not, I frequently starts up several copies of ICCAVR to look into more than one program at the time. However, most users use some external editor so maybe this is not so common. What version do you have? I think some of the early versions had this problem.

When I start up (usually inadvertently) a second copy, it behaves like a 'ghost' program: keeps showing the hour glass, nothing (absolutely nothing but reboot) can kill the process, so I can continue working.

Is this considered normal behaviour?

Albert van Veen.
