Richard,
I don't know what kind of information you need, but AVR Studio includes
XML descriptions in its Partdescriptionfiles subdirectory. Maybe
they'll help speed things up for you.

The AppB is being updated right now. We should have a new release in
1-2 weeks that cover the missing M32x and Tiny2x.
The problem is not that we don't want to disclose the nature of the
.cpu files, but that because there are hard coded stuff in the DLL to
support each device. Of course, ideally Atmel should release some
sort XML files to describe the devices, but since they don't, it's a
eye-ball to read the datasheet process :-(
